Born in India, Master Surendra Singh is a 6th Degree Black Belt in the WTF Style of
Tae-Kwon-Do. He started training in Tae-Kwon-Do at the early age of 4. Through
his hard work and dedication, he was able to travel around the world and compete
internationally. At the age of 7, he received his 1st Dan Black Belt in South Korea.
Master Surendra continued to teach and compete in Tae-Kwon-Do as a young adult
and was awarded a scholarship to study at TaeKyeung University in South Korea.
Master Surendra was awarded the National Champion of India in numerous divisions
throughout his competition years.
He lived in Daegu, South Korea for two years where he improved his knowledge and
skill in Tae-Kwon-Do. He served as Assistant Instructor in South Korea. In 2005 he
received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Tourism & Travel Management. In 2006 he
taught at the Police Academy in India. In 2009, Master Surendra received a Diploma
in Sports Science with a Major in Tae-Kwon-Do. In addition to all of his educational
accomplishments, Master Surendra trained in Judo for 2 years, he is a Certified
International Instructor, a Certified Judge & Referee and a Certified Yoga Instructor.
Master Surendra trained and perfected his craft in South Korea and India and brought
his experience & knowledge to the United States to share with his students.
He has been teaching Tae-Kwon-Do in the USA since 2009. Over the years, he has
lead his Demo teams to take home 1st place in numerous competitions throughout
the USA. With over 25 years of experience in teaching both adults and children,
Master Surendra founded Roar Tae-Kwon-Do Academy in Indian Trail, NC in 2016.
He is a loving husband and a new proud father of a beautiful baby boy named Leo. His passion for Tae-Kwon-Do, firm discipline, comedic personality, and dedication to helping his students be the best that they can be, is why his students love him! He teaches his students off the 5 Basic Principles of: (1) Courtesy, (2) Integrity, (3) Perseverance, (4) Self-Control and (5) Indomitable Spirit.
